[Hymn I.] The Hosanna; or Salvation ascribed to CHRIST.

Long Metre.

I.
1 Hosanna to King David's Son,
2 Who reigns on a superior Throne;
3 We bless the Prince of heav'nly Birth,
4 Who brings Salvation down on Earth.
[Page 41]
II.
5 Let ev'ry Nation, ev'ry Age,
6 In this delightful Work engage;
7 Old Men and Babes in Sion sing
8 The growing Glories of her King!

Common Metre.

I.
1 HOsanna to the Prince of Grace;
2 Sion, behold thy King!
3 Proclaim the Son of David's Race,
4 And teach the Babes to sing.
II.
5 Hosanna to th' Eternal Word,
6 Who from the Father came;
7 Ascribe Salvation to the LORD,
8 With Blessings on his Name.

Short Metre.

I.
1 HOsanna to the SON
2 Of David and of GOD,
3 Who brought the News of Pardon down,
4 And bought it with his Blood.
[Page 42]
II.
5 To CHRIST, th' anointed King,
6 Be endless Blessings giv'n;
7 Let the whole Earth his Glory sing,
8 Who made our Peace with Heav'n.
