THE Love of CHRIST ON His CROSS AND On His THRONE.

I.
1 NOW let my Faith grow strong and rise,
2 And view my Lord in all his Love;
3 Look back to hear his Dying Cries,
4 Then mount and see his Throne above.
II.
5 See where he Languish'd on the Cross;
6 Beneath my Sins he groan'd and dy'd;
7 See where he fits to plead my Cause
8 By his Almighty Father's Side.
[Page 26]
III.
9 If I behold his Bleeding Heart,
10 There Love in Floods of Sorrow reigns,
11 He triumphs o're the Killing Smart,
12 And buys my Pleasure with his Pains.
IV.
13 Or if I climb th' Eternal Hills
14 Where the dear Conqueror sits enthron'd,
15 Still in his Heart Compassion dwells
16 Near the Memorials of his Wound.
V.
17 How shall a pardon'd Rebel show
18 How much I Love my Dying God?
19 Lord, here I banish every Foe,
20 I hate the Sins that Cost thy Blood.
VI.
21 I hold no more Commerce with Hell,
22 My dearest Lusts shall all depart;
23 But let thine Image ever dwell
24 Stampt as a Seal upon my Heart.
